Environ Friend Institute’s project wing works on environmental engineering, new innovations and technologies. A technically graded team fully dedicated to its objectives. Wing is has worked on various projects in collaboration with ONGC, MPCB, and others. The key to environmental excellence and partnership is the best way to take advantage of each other's strength. At present project wing of institute is in process of executing new technology in Solid Waste Management in collaboration with corporate who have achieved technical excellence. We are also mediating on Public Private Partnership (PPP) development with world class technology which will entail to a revolution in Energy Efficiency and awareness. Institute has initiated research and development on the ways to reduce Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS). Ozone day 2008 photo edition issue was unveiled by Member Secretary, MPCB, which is another milestone in institute’s efforts.
Environmental engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to improve the environment (air, water, and/or land resources), to provide healthy water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to remediate polluted sites.
Environmentally benign technologies and practices can address sustainability issues and contribute to the conservation of national resources besides bringing down operating costs. Thus the birth of the “Green Building Concept” or the “Green Architecture Revolutions”. Green Architecture, seeks to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency and moderation the use of materials, energy and development space.
The goal of reaching sustainable development, when human activities including industrial manufacturing and commercial services, exists in harmony with the natural environment including conservation of energy and resources is an increasingly important aspiration for all the nations of the world. New technologies, regulations and policies have also emerged out for controlling the effects such as depletion of ozone layer, greenhouse effect, emission of particulate and toxic gases. Clean technologies can both boost our economies and protect our environment.
The Indian Economy is expected to place greater pressures on the environment in the years to come. Indian Construction industry is growing at a rate greater than the world average. Economists predict that the construction sector would continue peg higher growth rates in the years to come.
While such high growths are good for the economy’s health, one should also be concerned about the impact on the environment. The need of the hour is to consider and adopt innovative technology to minimize energy consumption and preserve natural resources.
Environ Friend Institute advocates for Energy Efficiency which plays a key role in achieving the goals of sustainable development and poverty eradication. We are faced with the formidable task of meeting the increasing demand for energy. The effort would be three pronged - to enhance supply, use resources available in an optimal and economical manner and on the demand side look at ways to save energy. Technological advances can contribute in large measure to this process. Energy efficient equipment should be manufactured both for industrial and domestic use. Similarly, the process of manufacturing should be such that it cuts down on energy consumption at every stage. There are multiple requirements for energy and all citizens have a duty not to waste this precious resource. Even though India's per-capita emission of green house gases is much less than those of developed countries, in this age of climate change, as citizens of the globe, all of us need to make efforts towards energy conservation. Efficient use of energy is itself a mechanism for reducing global warming. A call on all individuals, businesses, corporate organizations, Government offices and others to look at their energy consumption patterns and cut out wasteful expenditure of energy.
